At Park Central Development, we believe that all families should have access to safe, stable, affordable housing. This means providing assistance to families allowing them stay in their homes, or helping them move into available affordable housing units in neighborhoods that have benefited from the upward growth of private development and increased investments.
As the property values in our service area increase, program staff work with existing residents so they are able to stay in their homes and benefit from the developments by connecting them with critical services.Park Central’s Stay in Place Program aims to assist low to moderate income households or individuals with funds to supplement a security deposit or first months rent, with rental assistance, or with emergency utility funds to prevent disconnection.
We coordinate with local service providers and community advocates in Academy/Sherman Park, Fountain Park, Forest Park Southeast, Tiffany, and Botanical Heights to identify & provide services to families who are at risk of being displaced from their current housing. Staff also utilize our relationships with affordable housing property management (like Rise Development, Vatterott Properties, and Fox Grove Management) to identify & successfully move low-income families into available units.
The Stay in Place Program helps families with:
- a security deposit or first month’s rent,
- rental assistance,
- emergency utility assistance.
