Forest Park Southeast is an up-and-coming neighborhood with a mix of single- and multi-family homes on quiet streets along with trendy restaurants and bars in the Grove district along Manchester Avenue. FPSE comprises the four distinct neighborhoods of Adams Grove, Gibson Heights, New Boyle and Ranken East.
In the last decade, the Forest Park Southeast (FPSE) neighborhood has seen millions of dollars invested in commercial and residential renovations along with new construction projects. In the last year, over 50% of the construction projects in the City of St. Louis occurred in and adjacent to the FPSE neighborhood. However, these construction projects have not accounted for gaps in services, particularly in the residential portion of the neighborhood. While FPSE has numerous new and renovated buildings there is still a major gap regarding service and infrastructure improvements. PCD has worked alongside community residents to develop a complete Strategic Community Plan for the region.
Location
The Forest Park Southeast neighborhood is located on the southern side of Interstate 64 with the boundaries of Kingshighway on the west and Vandeventer Avenue on the southeast. The neighborhood is conveniently located to many attractions and institutions, including Forest Park, Barnes-Jewish Center, Washington University Medical Center, the Cortex district, and many others.
Neighborhood Organizations
The Forest Park Southeast Neighborhood Association meets monthly on every third Tuesday at the Missouri Foundation for Health. The meetings are open to the public and you don’t have to be a member to participate. To learn more, visit their website.
The Forest Park Southeast Business Association
The Forest Park South Business Association is a membership organization created to advance the mutual interests of commercial establishments within the area. The monthly board meeting is open to all association members. The Association hosts three quarterly networking luncheons and one Holiday Happy Hour each year.
Our Efforts
PCD provides technical assistance to the Grove Community Improvement District, which includes facilitating meetings and managing The Grove’s social media accounts. PCD provides administrative support to the FPSE Infrastructure Committee. We also organize the annual Grove Fest Street Festival and IndiHop. PCD also organizes an annual Opportunity Around the Corner job fair, which connects residents of Tiffany, Botanical Heights and Forest Park Southeast to jobs within walking distance of their neighborhoods. We further support residents through our Community Resource Counseling Program.
